A Little Bit About Me

Education:

I have a BS in math with specialization in computer science from Purdue University (Go Boilers!) and an MBA with concentrations in accounting and finance from The University of Chicago.

Experience:

I’m a licensed and bonded CPA and have had my own private practice since 1976. I specialize in startup consulting, payroll service, and QuickBooks support.

I’ve been a computer programmer and analyst as well as an auditor for a large public accounting firm. I’ve assembled, tested, installed, and supported microcomputer accounting systems for small businesses (hardware and software).

I helped develop the tax curriculum for the Business Ownership Initiative of Indiana and the Central Indiana Women’s Business Center, where I teach workshops about taxes, recordkeeping, and business startup.

My clients have included small business owners and solo entrepreneurs working in such fields as dentistry, physical therapy, landscape architecture, commercial real estate brokerage, property and casualty insurance, dog grooming, education, alternative medicine, and on-line music sales.

Other Places to Connect With Me On-Line

I’m the go-to person at The Web Sellers Circle for questions about accounting, bookkeeping, and using QuickBooks.

I regularly post articles about business startup, taxes, and technology on my business blog.

I serve on the panel of experts at the International Association of Solopreneurs writing articles and teaching teleclasses on business startup, taxes, and technology.
